The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Mohamed Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his recent interview.

What Happened

Salah was left out from a European match following criticising the club and stating his relationship with manager had soured.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”

Arne Slot has chosen not to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.

Looking Ahead

He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” he continued.

The midfielder also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “It's clear there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”

Positive Results

Liverpool's form have been impressive in the games following the situation. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not intended to cause disruption.

“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and on a positive run.”
