Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation advisers speaking at MPs

We begin with queries from Conservative MP the panel's head, that chairs the panel.

She opens by offering background to the unauthorized document written by Michael Prescott and printed in a national newspaper.

"I don't want the BBC slanting toward one side or the other, I just want it balanced, fair and just," he states.

When asked whether he believes the BBC is systematically partial, he answers: "Absolutely not. It is important to note, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is world class - both informative and fictional content."

But he adds: "There remains substantial tasks that needs to be done at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

Another former external British Broadcasting Corporation specialist questioned by the group, Caroline Daniel, remarks she regards the BBC with great importance and that it has a "ongoing system and active debate" on dynamic and complex issues.

"Did the BBC prepared to have a proper dialogue and exchange and take action?" she questions. "From my perspective, indeed, they were."
