LA Explodes in Celebration as Dodgers Secure Second World Series Championship
The City of Angels witnessed citywide festivities after the Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series title. Fans across the globe joined local residents in jubilation, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a team has achieved back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Draws Massive Crowds
Los Angeles area events included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.
Social media videos depict thousands of Angelenos flooding city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy high.

The championship acted as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, supporters this year demonstrated equal or greater enthusiasm.
